Training in Patient Safety
We have developed a number of patient safety training programs in an effort to enhance safe health care delivery to Veterans.
As with other aspects of VA’s patient safety program, the primary goal of these programs is the nationwide reduction and prevention of inadvertent harm to patients as a result of their care.
For a patient safety program to function effectively, developing consistent methods for training frontline patient safety professionals, as well as clinicians from numerous disciplines, is critical.
Our training programs range from patient safety basics, to improving root cause analysis procedures, to simulation-based teamwork and communication improvement.
